Today we want to talk to you about an update on the KONNET netting system, our innovative protection system, which is both durable and easy to install.
What is the KONNET net?

KONNET represents a new method for installing protective nets, designed to make orchard coverage easier to install and more durable over time. Unlike the traditional system, the net is no longer positioned “over” the top ridge wire. Thanks to its specific dimensions (half-width net), the two halves are overlapped on the upper longitudinal wire and fixed to each other, while at the centre of the row they are secured using dedicated net-fixing clips.
How does it work?
- The two half nets are first laid out on the ground and then lifted, fixing one edge to the ridge wire.
- Using Topix plastic clips, the net is secured along the ridge wire. The Topix clips are positioned closer together than in the previous system, ensuring proper load distribution.
- The two half nets meet and overlap at the center of the row, completely closing all gaps and effectively preventing hail from passing through.

Triple Selvedge
In addition, to improve delivery times and the availability of the nets, we have introduced an important technical upgrade to the KONNET anti-hail nets: the Triple Selvedge.
This solution consists of a wider lateral selvedge, which allows the central net stop plates to be installed at three different heights. With a single net size, it is now possible to cover a much wider range of row spacings, significantly reducing the number of different nets required.
The triple selvedge is 15 cm wide (plus the standard 2 cm edge) and is divided into three 5 cm sections, identified by the colors Green, White, and Red. Below you will find the technical drawing and explanatory images.
The 17 cm lateral Triple Selvedge enables the central net stop plates to be fixed at three different heights thanks to the colored reference lines (green, white, red), ensuring precise and versatile installation. It also provides greater flexibility during installation, especially in orchards with irregular row spacing. In addition, this selvedge offers enhanced resistance to weather conditions and improved adaptability to different inter-row distances.
We have also modified the position of the selvedge in the V5 system, moving it from 70 cm to 50 cm from the edge. This change avoids an excessive central “funnel” effect and improves the overall appearance of the net.

Advantages of the Konnet net and the triple selvage:
- Greater wind resistance and longer net lifespan.
- Reinforced edges designed to improve wind resistance and durability.
- More flexible installation: the structure can be completed first, and the net installed afterward.
- Simplified maintenance: only the damaged section needs to be replaced.
- Easier management of rows with different widths.
- Faster installation thanks to narrower nets.
- Shorter delivery times (fewer nets required).
- Extra hail protection with elements such as the central “mini skirt.”
Customer Benefits
- Longer-lasting nets, less prone to tearing.
- Safe and quick installation.
- Reduced delivery times.
- Freedom to schedule covering installation whenever you prefer.
- Lower maintenance costs.
Greater adaptability to rows with different widths (e.g., one half‑net can be 2.60 m and the next 2.90 m).
